Ferit continues to be suspicious of Mehmet, considering him a strange man. Because of this, he asks Gulsen to look more closely into Mehmet’s past and behavior. During her investigation, Gulsen speaks with the doctor who treated Mehmet and discovers that he suffers from serious mental disorders, has violent outbursts, and a pathological fear of abandonment. Despite this, Gulsen chooses not to reveal anything to Ferit, because it suits her for Leyla to reconcile with Mehmet, which would keep Ferit away from her.
Meanwhile, Ceylan goes to the hospital with Karan to visit Yakup. Sadly, Yakup’s condition suddenly worsens, he suffers a heart attack, and loses his life.
Encouraged by Gonca, Mehmet goes once again to Leyla’s house. Gonca leaves them alone, retreating to the kitchen to prepare dinner. Alone with Leyla, Mehmet once again expresses regret for his past mistakes and, with tears in his eyes, tells her that he has changed and begs her to trust him. Leyla feels nothing but compassion for him; she takes his hand and explains that there can no longer be a romantic relationship between them, only friendship. At that exact moment, Ferit appears and, seeing Leyla’s gesture, begins to believe that Gonca and Gulsen were right and that Leyla still has feelings for Mehmet.
